Najah Bazzy, RN,\u00a0PhD (honoris causa)\u00a0is the founder and CEO of Zaman International, a non-profit that supports marginalized women and children of all backgrounds in Detroit.\u00a0This group has helped more than 250,000 people.\u00a0Today, Zaman operates from a 40,000-square-foot facility in the suburb of Inkster. The group\u2019s warehouse offers aisles of food, rows of clothes and vast arrays of furniture free to those in need. The group\u2019s case managers help clients access housing and other services.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bazzy is\u00a0an internationally esteemed health care consultant, humanitarian, interfaith leader, professor and 2019 CNN Top 10 Hero.\u202fBorn and raised in Southeast Michigan, Najah earned her nursing degree from Madonna University and specialized over the past three decades in critical care and transcultural nursing.
